Cheese Bomb Potatoes

Bursting with cheesy cheesiness....just the way I like!
Super simple and only 3 ingredients.
You can also add in veggies, turkey bacon, chicken, etc. to make it more interesting.
Anyone that knows me knows I have a thing for cheese. It has a special place in my heart and I will never give it up EVER! Since I did not want to give it up I had to find ways to fit it into my meal plan when the cheese craving hits. Awhile back I stumbled upon a quesadilla recipe that used cottage cheese in the place of regular cheese. Once I found out it was possible to melt cottage cheese I must say I went a little bit crazy! Anyways, enough babble and on to the cheese, please!!

Click Espresso Protein Drink Review

I am going to be honest. I never had much of an interest in this stuff at all. I have seen ads for it in Oxygen, FitnessRx, etc. but for some reason I just never took an interest.
That is a shame because this drink tastes AWESOME!!!! I had the mocha flavor and it tasted great and mixed very well. When I read the directions I thought it might taste kind of watered down since they suggested you add 12-14oz of water. Most protein supplements suggest about 8oz. This was the first thing I liked about it was that you get a pretty big drink without it being watered down.
This I think would be a great alternative to my usual iced coffee w/ soymilk at Starbucks. For a Starbucks grande coffee with soymilk you get 120cals vs. Click Espresso with 1/2 cup almond milk 138cals which is only 18cals more plus you get 15g of protein and vitamins and minerals. Being able to have my morning coffee with protein is like killing two birds with one stone. I had this after my workout actually but I tend to like more protein in my postworkout shake. This would not be as much an issue if you used milk to make it but since I use almond milk it wasn't enough. I think for me personally this would be better suited as a preworkout paired with some fruit or something.
The only downside for me is that this product does contain sugar. Its not much (7g) but I am not a big fan of added sugar but at least its in the single digits. Also this was very filling even though it had less protein then I tend to go for in a postworkout. I actually really really like this product and will absolutely be buying it in the near future.

Angel Cakes

This cake is like my guardian angel. It has saved me on multiple occasions from scarfing down something I know I shouldn't. It's pretty quick/easy to make and good for cake cravings!! Some clean eaters may be against this since I used store bought angel food mix. I don't really worry about it too much since as far as cake mixes go angel food is usually the best option and I don't eat this often so I make an exception.

Such a yucky picture for such an awesome cake
Ingredients:
1 serving Angel Food cake mix (this varies but the mix I used was 38grams a serving)
1 scoop protein powder (you can change the flavor of the cake by using different flavors)
3-4tbsp water

Directions:
Mix all ingredients in a bowl and toss in the microwave (yes I'm obsessed with that thing!)
Cook time should be about a minute and a half but it depends on your microwave so I would check on it after a min. then kind of gauge from there.
Mine had mixed berry sauce on it...that sauce looks odd. I would say what it looks like but that may offend the squeamish. I basically pureed  frozen mixed berries with water, cinnamon, and stevia and simmered it on the stove and poured it on top.

Stats: 230 calories, 1g fat, 35g carbs, 20g protein, 25g sugar
Yes, the sugar is high which is why I don't eat this often otherwise I would make it everyday! The stats may also seem high but this cake is very big!

About time..

I got some new weights!! YAAAYYYYY!!! I have been keeping my eyes peeled for any good sales so I could get more weights. Lucky me I went into Sports Authority this morning since it was the last day to get 20% off dumbells, weight plates, and kettlebells.
I would have gotten a new kettlebell but the selection wasn't great probably since it was the last day of the sale. But anyhow I got 2 new pairs of weights but of course I wanted more. So, if anyone out there knows of good sales on fitness gear I might be interested in, drop me a line! Cause as you may have noticed, I LOVE a good sale!

*Request* Blue Gradient Tutorial

Today I will be doing a tutorial for this bad boy ^^

Here is an alternate view so you can get a better idea of what we are going for:

Top Secret N.O. 370 Reveiw

Earlier this week I got a chance to try a sample of N.O. 370 which is a pre-workout made by Top Secret. So far out of the samples I have tried this was the one I liked the most.
The taste is pretty good for a pre workout (similar to koolaide) and it mixes easily. According to the directions it should be taken 15-20 min before your workout. I followed the recommendation but for me it took longer to kick in (about 30min). When it did start to kick in it wasn't like an all of a sudden, tingles all over or anything like that like I have experienced with some other pre workouts. It was more of a gradual effect and I actually never got the tingles like usual. I just felt really focused and had a good amount of energy that did not make me feel jittery or want to rip off my clothes and fly out the window.

Sea Nymph

I went to that mall the other day (no surprise). This is how I wore my makeup..I liked it quite a bit

Used: NYX Brow Powder, MAC: Wedge Eyeshadow, Vanilla Eyeshadow, Entremauve Pigment, Blacktrack Fluidline, Sweet as Cocoa Blush, Sunsparked Pearl Beauty Powder, Fix +, Make Up Forever Turquoise Star Powder, Victorias Secret Guilded Black Creme Shadow, Ben Nye Foundation&Concealer (custom blend), Sephora Lipstick (I don't know the number and I'm pretty certain they don't make this shade anymore).
FYI: I fixed the "hole" in my left eyebrow...I did not go out like that haha

Naturade Total Soy Meal Replacement Reveiw

So I started trying a lot of the samples that I received from the Vitamin Shoppe a few days ago. The first product I tried was the Naturade Soy meal replacement.
As far as taste goes this product tastes good and is not too sweet or overpowering. The texture is a bit gritty on your tongue but mixes it  pretty easy. Since it mixed pretty easy I guess I wasn't really expecting it to be as gritty as it was. When I followed the directions which said to prepare it with water I was surprised that I actually felt pretty full. Unfortunately, that fullness only lasted about 1hour 45min!! Also, once that full feeling went away I was STARVING so I ended up eating my next meal way early. Another downside is that it is pretty high in sugar at about 16g. That ma not be high for some but for my personal preference I like to keep added sugar to somewhere in the single digits.
Since I had a few packets I tried this again in my post workout shake. This time I used the powder and blended it with cottage cheese and almond milk. This changed stats to 255cal, 5.5 fat, 25g carbs, 28g protein which was closer to what I would get with my usual post workout. This time it kept me full until my next meal (3 hours later). This does not work very well for me on its own as a meal replacement which is the intended purpose. When other things are added it doe do a decent job of keeping me full but I don't think this product is for me. This is because I am not really into meal replacements especially if they don't keep me full and I also don't want to have to add extra protein to my shakes to make them suitable as a post workout.

Extinguishing the flames..

So today I had my last TurboFire workout for awhile. I had I really good run with this and I really enjoyed doing it. I did one round of the advanced program which I started on December 1st and it was 5 months long. During this round I lost 21lbs and since it was 20 weeks that equates to about a pound a week. I immediately after began a round of the TurboFire/Chalean Extreme Hybrid since I have both programs.

Samples Galore!!!

I attended a heath fair at my local Vitamin Shoppe over the weekend with my sister and it was a lot of fun. There were some vendors there and also there was a blood drive and some health screenings. Many of the vendors were giving out samples of some products I had heard of and some I hadn't so I found it very interesting. And plus...FREE SAMPLES!! Woohooo! I also picked up a few other items I needed.

I got samples of Naturade Total Soy Meal Replacement (chocolate and vanilla), Sunwarrior Raw Vegan Protein (chocolate and vanilla), Solgar Multivitamins, Top Secret Nutrition N.O. 370 Preworkout, Click Espresso Protein Drink, and PGX Daily Appetite Suppressant. I also bought Natures Secret 15 day Cleanse, BSN Cheaters Relief, Vitamin Shoppe BodyTech WheyTech, and Vitamin Shoppe Tonalin CLA (not pictured).

As I try these products I will be posting reviews for a few of them. Not all just because it is hard to post a review of multivitamins without having taken them for awhile. They are going to be more like first impression type of reviews.
Afterwards, I stopped by Starbucks for some green tea. I like their green tea because it has a light minty flavor which I like. I get it without sweetener because I think it is good without it. If I were to use a sweetener it would probably be stevia mainly because I usually have packets of stevia in my purse.
Oh and that's a lace nail polish sticker <3
They are made by Sally Hanson and can be bought at Sally's, CVS, Walmart, etc.

You know your muffin top is showing...

Not really haha but I came up with this funky muffin top hairstyle. I spent the day shopping with my sister and I just wanted to do something semi interesting with my hair. I also liked how my makeup turned out so I have posted what I used for this look.

Rock it out!!

I must say that I am a big fan of the Foodspotting app. If you have a smartphone and are into finding really great local places to eat I would recommend this app. I came across a few photos for a place called Sushi Rock located in downtown Fort Lauderdale. The photos looked amazing!! Since I am a pretty visual person I knew I needed to try Sushi Rock.

I was finally able to make it there a few days ago with a group of friends. The restaurant has a very rocker type feel which I was expecting due to the name. It was on the smaller side and was lit with neon lights which added to the rock vibe. There were quite a few people eating there which was a good sign, especially since we arrived pretty close to closing time.

The service was surprisingly fast for the amount of customers that were there. This was also a major plus. They also name a lot of their sushi after music artists which is definitely more fun/interesting then just ordering a California roll.

Now to the main event....the food was seriously AMAZING. I don't go out to eat very often anymore so whenever I do I tend to be a bit picky. I ordered the Fabolous cucumber "rap". I loved the fact that they had sushi wrapped in cucumber instead of the usual sushi rice and nori. This allowed me to cut calories a bit so I had room for dessert!! I unfortunately did not get a chance to take a picture of the dessert. I was gone super fast! The dessert was so good I was really glad I decided to go ahead and have dessert that night.

I split the Fried Vanilla Ice with my sister who loved it just as much as I did. It was vanilla ice cream wrapped in pound cake and fried. Not so good for my hips but very good for my taste buds! I could seriously eat this dessert for the rest of my life! YUMM

I will definitely be going back to Sushi Rock and I also look forward to finding more great restaurants like this with my new favorite app.

PPB: Protein Peanut Butter

I am like a kid when it comes to peanut butter sandwiches. I love them so much I have one almost daily. One day after my workout I was craving a peanut butter sandwich so I just made this. I fell in love with peanut butter all over again..This can be used as a spread, dip, or even candy! Yay...candy!!

Another serving of brownies!!

Edible ones this time!! I had these as a postworkout snack the other day and they turned out pretty good. I may tweak them a bit so there may be multiple attempts at getting the perfect microwave protein brownie. I like to have a treat to look forward to after a hard workout...makes me smile :)
Sorry my pictures are pretty boring..I usually don't have time to make my food look pretty.  This is also why most things I make either take very little time or are make ahead.

MMMmm....BROWNies :-P

No...this is not a brownie recipe but something better!! I decided to do a step by step makeup tutorial for a fairly simple brown look. I say simple cause I usually wear more then this but I like this look and I do it often because it is pretty without taking too much time to do. FYI: I hate video tutorials because I think my voice is weird and I get flustered and distracted easily so I may do one eventually but probably not anytime soon...also excuse the partial nudity but I just hate getting makeup on my clothes soo..oh well

I am the Samurai...

Had a pretty great day today...I actually had an interview with Lululemon this morning and tried on a super cute workout outfit. I decided I would I snap a pic to share...I didn't buy it as I wasn't there to shop and the store wasn't even actually open at the time. I fell in love with this outfit the top was super comfy and I liked the pattern. The pants were also quite comfortable but what I loved about them is that they made my butt look AWESOME! In my book that is always a plus. They also had tons of pockets to store whatever you may have with you while working out.

Afterwards, I was passing by Teavana and since I had not had any sort of caffeine fix for the day I had to go in and get a little tea treat. This was actually my first time ever trying yerba mate and I actually mainly choose this tea because the sample tasted so good. I got the Samurai Chai Mate. It is slightly sweetened and has that great sweet/spicyness that I love about chai teas. It was a nice treat to sip on while I took Pandora on a morning walk. The caffeine content posted for it stated it was about 50% of what you would get in a cup of coffee. Although that isn't much caffeine I must say it helped me channel my inner samurai during my HIIT workout.

Six Dollar Outfit..

So I am hugely into sales and bargain hunting mainly because I constantly feel that hunger for a good shopping trip so if I didn't utilize my bargain hunting skills I would be massively in debt...big no-no. I had a job interview yesterday so I decided to wear my trusty six dollar outfit...
Silk Top w/ Lace Cap Sleeves- Kohl's (paid: 89 cents!! They usually send out a mailer during sales and will often send out cards for $10 off any purchase..so check the clearance section and just find something you like that's a little over ten bucks and you can score something cute practically for free)
Black Cropped Vest- Free as it was a gift :)
Black Cropped Slim Cut Pants- GAP (paid: $5... I know on the holidays things can get crazy busy but if you are looking for a good bargain go to the mall on holidays...these pants would have cost me over $50 on any other but since it was 4th of July they cost 45 dollars less!)
Ignore the dirty mirror :-/

Here goes nothing...

Hello there I just wanted to write up a first post here to get my blog started. This is my first blog and I must admit I don't have a clue what I am doing but I hope with time I will figure out my way so let it be known that there will be much technical difficulties :). I really am just starting this as a hobby and just to have a place to vent, rant, share my thoughts/life/interests. Anyhow, just thought I would say a quick hello to anyone who may be out there.
